Clio Padovani
Clio Padovani, MA RCA, is the founder and creative designer of Esterni Design Partnership. She was born in Florence, Italy, is a graduate of the Royal College of Art, London, and an artist and video maker with an international exhibiting profile.
Plant associations and the dream spaces of gardens have been a long-standing inspiration for her textile design work. Clio brings visual, technical experience and extensive planting knowledge to Esterni, sharing her passion for dry climate planting and gardens as extended, social, immersive spaces. Her approach to horticulture and planting design is enriched by her experience of textile design and influenced by formal gardens of the Italian Renaissance and the resilient beauty of the Tuscan countryside. A member of the UK Women’s Farm and Garden Association, Clio continues to make films, teach art and design and make gardens in the UK and in the hills of the Tuscan Maremma.
Recent art and design achievements include a commissioned moving image artwork for the world class exhibition, “Quilts 1700- 2010”, Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
